OS X text editor - new kid on the block   Message List

BBEdit has always been the best text editor on the Mac,
and is a lot better than what's available on that
operating system wannabe from Redmond.

However, I've recently come across this gem of a text
editor - it has a weird name, but it really has
a very OSX-friendly interface, and Open Source (free).
BBEdit's yearly $49 upgrades were starting to bother me
as it didn't offer anymore compelling features, unless you
were authoring web pages.

http://smultron.sourceforge.net/

The biggest feature that convinced me to switch is that
it offers something similar to Safari or Firefox
tabbed browsing - it lets you open mulitple documents
in one window. On the other hand, it only has one window,
so that may bother you if you like having multiple windows
open (a future version will have multiple windows).

I highly recommend giving this program a chance if you're
running OSX. Feel free to discuss by replying to this post
(asacmug@yahoogroups.com).
